World Forestry Center event recaps UN Climate Change Conference, ICYMI

Couldn’t make it to Paris for the recent United Nations Climate Change Conference? No worries. The World Forestry Center and partners have you covered.

The center, the Nature Conservancy and the Pinchot Institute for Conservation are hosting a public lecture Dec. 9 in Portland to report on the climate talks.

Kicking off at 4 p.m., the event will feature a presentation by Steve Running, who was a chapter lead author for the Fourth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and is now a regents professor of forest ecology at the University of Montana. He’s also an Oregon State University alumnus.

Running will talk about the latest climate negotiations and the role global forests play in Earth’s climate system.

His presentation will be held in the center’s Miller Hall, 4033 S.W. Canyon Road. Cost is $5 for students and $10 for general admission.
